Dr. Nesmith is originally from Florida. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies. This was followed by dental school and a period of oral and maxillofacial surgery training before completing medical school — all at the University of Florida. He then completed five years of specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and Bowman Gray/Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Nesmith has an active interest in the specialty of plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery and has published original articles relating to these fields.
